Resume

Naomi was born and raised on Manhattan’s Upper West side, in the cultural hub of classical music, dance and the arts. She studied dance at the Russian School of Ballet, followed by the renowned New York’s Performing Arts High School. Studying to be a prima ballerina, at 16 she had a change of heart to focus on further development of her painting style and skills. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art at the City College of New York in 1971, and attended the Art Students League.  A Master’s Degree in Art Education at Columbia University followed in 1973. Post graduate study continued at the Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. She spent two years in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the early seventies, where she had a one-woman show on the campus of the University of Michigan and was featured in several local galleries. Naomi’s work was displayed frequently in the Farmington-West Hartford area of Connecticut from 1978 through 1980.
Since 1980, she has worked out of her Fort Lauderdale, Florida studio and continues to create unique canvases in acrylic and watercolor, pen and ink sketches and giclées. In addition she has developed a selective collection of hand painted designer handbags, belts, furniture and jewelry. Naomi was one of four artists selected for an exhibit entitled Mosaic at the Bnai Brith Klutznick National Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., and won the Judaica Prize Competition at the Jewish Museum of Florida in Miami Beach, where her tzedakah box is on permanent display. For the past twenty-five years Naomi's fine work has continued to blossom and can be found in the prestigious collections and homes of discerning art connoisseurs in South Florida, the New York metropolitan area and throughout the country.
